Velizar Sadovski on magic in Indo-European traditions and beyond (in Italian)
On March 07, 2024, Velizar Sadovski (Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften) gave a lecture at University of Naples "L'Orientale" on formal and content aspects of ritual spells attested in both Indo-European and non-Indo-European traditions. In the first part of the lecture, Prof. Sadovski concentrated on types of spells, such as ritual binding spells used for different purposes. In the second part of the lecture, he discusses some structural features of catalogues and lists, which are occasionally embedded in ancient ritual spells.
